Barcelona cruise port: what you can walk to from the ship

Most cruise ships in Barcelona dock at the Adossat pier, a shuttle ride from the foot of La Rambla. From there the Gothic Quarter is a short walk and Gaudí’s Eixample a longer one. These are the free Mappu walks that fit your hours ashore, timed from the ship and back.

Self-guidedNo guide meets you and nothing to book: you follow the map and listen on your phone. Want transport and a guide instead? The shore excursions are further down this page.

With 8 hours ashore

Nothing more than the walks above fits in 8 hours: use the extra time inside the sights or for a long lunch.

How we count the time

Each time adds up the trip from the ship to the Columbus Monument and back (30 minutes each way, Mappu’s allowance), the walk from there to the first stop and back from the last, the walk itself at 4.5 km/h with its audio, and an hour to spare before all-aboard. Walking distances come from OpenStreetMap. Time inside the sights, queues and meals is extra, and your ship’s all-aboard time always comes first.

Prefer a shore excursion?

A shore excursion takes you further, with transport and a guide, and is planned around the ship’s timetable. Mappu does not run them: the partner below lists them, so you can compare and book.
