1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Mappu, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. The processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Service Description

Mappu is software for planning and managing travel itineraries. The service may include:

• Generation of itineraries, summaries, digital guides, and guide responses based on your inputs
• Tools to create, edit, save, share, or export your itineraries
• Location-based features and other premium features that may require credits, as shown in the app

Important service boundaries:

• Mappu provides a software travel-planning service.
• Mappu does not operate as a travel agency, tour operator, or licensed in-person tourist guide service.
• Any booking, purchase, or reservation made through a third-party offer is concluded directly with the external provider under its own terms, pricing, and refund or cancellation rules.
• Some external links may be affiliate links. If you choose to open them, we may receive attribution or commissions at no extra cost to you.

Mappu is a general travel-planning service. Please do not enter health, allergy, accessibility, religion, or other special-category data in free-text fields unless a specific feature clearly requires it.

3. User Accounts

To use some features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Be able to validly accept these Terms and, to purchase credits, have the legal capacity required by applicable law or use the service with authorization from a parent or guardian where permitted
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

4. Credits and Payments

Mappu uses a credits-based model for AI generation and advanced features:

Purchased credits are added to your account balance and used when you activate eligible features. Full payment details are handled by the relevant billing provider.

Manual itinerary editing does not consume credits. Some verification, guide, or enrichment features may require them.

Additional billing terms:

• Credits are personal, linked to your account, are not transferable, and do not have cash-refund value or stored-value status.
• Unless clearly stated otherwise at the time of purchase or required by law, purchased credits do not expire under our current service model.
• Any refund entitlement depends on the payment channel used and the applicable mandatory consumer law. Web payments are handled through Stripe; iOS purchases through Apple; Android purchases through Google Play.
• If you purchase credits through Apple or Google, that purchase may also be subject to the relevant platform’s rules on billing, device, refunds, and account.
• For web purchases, before order confirmation we make available the seller identity, the total price, the main characteristics of the purchase, and links to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Legal Info page. When the digital service must begin immediately, we require a specific request for immediate performance and, where applicable, acknowledgement of the consequences for any right of withdrawal, within the limits allowed by law.
• If a payment is refunded, revoked, challenged through a chargeback, or later invalidated by the billing provider, we may remove or reverse the related credits.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use our service for unlawful or prohibited activities, including:

• Any unlawful or unauthorized purpose
• Harmful, threatening, or harassing content
• Spam, unsolicited communications, or commercial activities
• Uploading malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Interference with or disruption of our service
• Automated data collection or scraping
• Circumventing anonymous usage limits, anti-bot checks, or access controls
• Uploading images or other content that you do not have the right to use, that violates privacy or publicity rights, or that contains unlawful, harmful, or abusive material
• Providing third-party contact details for itinerary sharing without adequate authorization, or intentionally sharing private access with unintended recipients

6. Intellectual Property

Mappu retains all rights to our platform, including our AI technology, algorithms, design, and content. Our service is protected by copyright, trademarks, and other intellectual-property laws.

You retain ownership of your travel preferences, itinerary customizations, and any media or other content you upload. However, you grant us a license to use that information and content to provide, protect, and improve our service.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use our service for personal and non-commercial purposes.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy. The processing of personal data, including location-based features such as Walk Mode, is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow it, including mandatory consumer remedies and liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death, personal injury, or other losses that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Subject to those rules, Mappu is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, loss of data, or business interruption.

Subject to those mandatory rights and non-excludable liabilities, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the total amount paid for credits or one-time purchases in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

Either party may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, create a legal or security risk, misuse the service, or if we reasonably need to discontinue or modify the service; where appropriate, we will provide notice.

Upon termination, your right to use our service ends immediately. We may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by Italian law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights applicable in your country of residence. If you are a consumer, you may bring claims before the courts allowed by the applicable mandatory law; in all other cases, the Italian courts will have jurisdiction unless the law provides otherwise.

12. Changes to the Terms

We may modify these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide, where reasonably possible, notice through the service or by email before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date of the updated terms constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
